The elections are getting close and all kind of wack jobs are making last ditch efforts to save Romney’s campaign against the president. But to no avail, the lack of understanding and/or disconnected rich dummy antics are not doing the trick. It just goes to show that all the money in the world can’t buy you a clue when it comes to common sense.
And the campaign that President Obama is running as well as his policies already in place, are just common sense. But people like John Sununu, Mitt Romney’s top attack dog and former White House Chief of Staff who is a co-chair of Mitt Romney’s campaign, would not be able to see that because of his obvious generational disadvantage. In other words, his racist views.
When news spread of Colin Powell’s endorsement of President Obama, Sununu appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight saying that Colin Powell, who is a Republican, was siding with Obama because he’s black. The conversation went like this:
Sununu: “Frankly, when you take a look at Colin Powell, you have to wonder if that’s an endorsement based on issues, or whether he’s got a slightly different reason for preferring President Obama.”
Piers Morgan: “What reason would that be?”
Sununu: “Well, I think when you have somebody of your own race that you’re proud of being President of the United States, I applaud Colin for standing with him.”
Colin Powell has been an insider at the White House as George W. Bush’s Secretary of State. He understands what happened during Bush’s administration as well as the new administration and its stronghold. According to CNN, when Powell appeared on CBS This Morning he applauded Obama for his policies with the economy, health care, and terrorism. He said:
“I also saw the president get us out of one war, start to get us out of a second war, and did not get us into any new wars,” Powell added. “The actions that he has taken with respect to protecting us from terrorism have been very, very solid.”
And he made no qualms about his loyalty towards Obama:
“I signed on for a long patrol with President Obama and I don’t think this is the time to make such a sudden change,” the retired general said.
And as we all know, Mitt Romney’s stance on foreign policy is weak and ambivalent. Even Colin Powell had to say during his interview:
“This is quite a different set of foreign policy views than he had earlier in the campaign,” Powell said. “Sometimes, I don’t sense that he has thought through these issues as thoroughly as he should have.”
“I think there are some very, very strong neoconservative views that are presented by the governor that I have some trouble with,” Powell said.
Now Sununu! Are you really going to try and make this man seem uneducated and feeble-minded enough to pick his president on the basis of color? Presumably not, because Sununu back tracked on his statements after the Piers Morgan appearance saying in a prepared statement:
“Colin Powell is a friend and I respect the endorsement decision he made and I do not doubt that it was based on anything but his support of the president’s policies. Piers Morgan’s question was whether Colin Powell should leave the party, and I don’t think he should,” Sununu said.
Really? Well we’re going to run the video, so our readers can make a fair assessment of their own. But in the meantime, I have to share one phenomenal Facebook comment that we indubitably agree with:
“You know, I’ve kept my political views to myself this whole political season – I’m not interested in people being privy to my thoughts. But I have to say this – why do Republicans think that presumably otherwise educated Black people are only voting for President Obama because they are proud of someone of their own race. This Sununu guy just said it doesn’t mean anything that Colin Powell endorsed the president – simply that it means Powell is proud of someone of his own race. Colin Powell??? The only reason he would possibly vote for the president is because he is black…. He was capable enough to help the republicans run the country, but now he’s a feeble minded negro who can only make a decision based on looking at pretty colors and, presumably, very shiny things. ATTENTION people who hold this view: WE CAN THINK AND REASON ON OUR OWN and whomsoever we decide to vote for will get the vote because we weighed our options and MADE AN EDUCATED DECISION. Come on folks… I know what you’re thinking. This really isn’t a real life version of The Planet of the Apes. Yeah, I said it.”-JBB
Let the choir say…
