Zumba is the relatively new exercise sensation that people of all ages take advantage of these days. The latin inspired dance/exercise has studios filled to the brim with participants every day waiting to learn exotic moves they didn’t know they could do.
Only Alexis Wright, 29, had some moves she didn’t share with any of her students. She had an exclusive clientele for those moves. Wright ran a Zumba studio in a tourist town in Maine called Kennebunk. The upper class Mayberry-like town has been rocked with the scandal that revealed that Wright was not the sweet little lady around the lane. But in fact, she was a prostitute doubling as a zumba instructor and now, according to Fox News, faces:
- 106 counts of prostitution,
- violation of privacy,
- tax evasion
- and other charges for allegedly providing sex for money
Her dance studio became a frisky little den of inequity after hours where the landlord Ben Nguyen found a tripod and massage table set up. But Wright wasn’t alone in her enterprise, her business partner, 57-year-old Mark Strong Sr. was also charged with “59 counts of promotion of prostitution and violation of privacy.”
The town is in disbelief over the entire incident. A zumba whorehouse? In their town? Right next door to the Bush family summer compound? Who would’ve ever guessed? Right?
Both Wright and Strong have plead not guilty to the charges against them, but I don’t think anyone believes them seeing as how authorities gathered more than 100 hours of video and nearly 14,000 screen shots from seized computers. They even found that her secret name for her johns was Zumbalicious!
