President Obama Compared to Movie Theater Killer on Idaho Billboard (Video)

Idaho's libertarian activists of the Ralph Smeed Foundation erected a billboard that compares James Holmes, the killer that shot and killed 12 people in Century theater in Aurora, Colorado, to President Obama.

The election season has really gotten into the heads of all kinds of political parties and  folks and caused them to have some sort of meltdown.  But, President Obama is ignoring them and staying steady on his trail back to the White House for a second term.  But, even though he’s staying on track with his agenda, he’s gotta be a little pissed off about this one.

According to the Huffington Post via the Idaho Statesman, an electronic billboard in Caldwell, Idaho, was erected by the Ralph Smeed Foundation and compares the president with James Holmes, the killer that shot and killed 12 people in the movie theater massacre July 20.  The people of Idaho are shocked and angry because the billboard has the pictures of President Barack Obama and James Holmes side by side with these words:

“Kills 12 in a movie theater with assault rifle, everyone freaks out,” written under Holmes picture, then under the president’s picture, “Kills thousands with foreign policy, wins Nobel Peace Prize.”

But Smeed Foundation claim they aren’t making the president out to be a “lunatic”:

“We’re all outraged over that killing in Aurora, Colo., but we’re not outraged over the boys killed in Afghanistan,” Clements explained to the paper, and added that he’s not trying to connect Obama to Holmes, he’s just comparing the way society reacts. “We’re not saying that Obama is a lunatic,” he said.

The Ralph Smeed Foundation, supports the ideas and theories of the late libertarian activist and the libertarian causes in Idaho.  But residents of the area are complaining about the billboard and NBC News reports that they are calling it “offensive,” “abhorrent,” and “pathetic.”

Obama should send some folks over there to have a little conversation with some folks at Smeed.  This is taking the First Amendment a little TOO far!  Check out the report.

  1. “This is taking the First Amendment a little TOO far!” Well, actually…

It’s exactly the type of speech the 1st Amendment is designed to protect.

    Disrespectful? Absolutely.
    Overly simplistic? Yep!

Do I think they’re idiots for putting the sign up and that it will probably cost them the election? Yep.

Freedom of speech means I can say what I like, what I believe. It, of course, doesn’t mean that I can say what I like without the public having the right to call me a f’ing idiot, which is us exercising our own 1st Amendment rights.

Btw, there’s a touch of truth there in that we, as a nation, have killed a sh*t-ton of people overseas (including civilians).
