The nation is struggling with the marijuana debate. Many want the drug to be legalized while others feel that legalizing it will surely lead to mayhem and the downfall of their neighborhoods. Well, those on the opposing side of the argument have had their prayers answered in California.
Tuesday, Los Angeles’ city council voted to ban the medical marijuana dispensaries until they could make the rules and regulations of the stores more concrete and/or lucid to them as well as the general population. They felt that too many of the dispensaries were popping up lately and the reason behind the proliferation is the flimsy guidelines.
But, you can’t take away a medical recipient of marijuana or any other weed smoker’s supply without a fight. Those that opposed the 13-1 ruling showed up to the meeting and protested with venom. The ruling will see the 900 dispensaries in the area banned within 30 days if Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa signs off on the vote. In the meantime, they are going to receive letters advising them of the ban.
Medical weed dispensaries will begin to dry up around L.A. because the city council only approved places like hospices or home health agencies to provide medical marijuana until they can sort out their battle against the dispensaries.
Read more here, but if you’re in L.A., smoke slow while you read. We know your Glaucoma might be actin’ up and your supplies will soon get low.
