Flash mobs are a group of people joining in a harmless act of celebration that can pop up anywhere and can include anywhere from 10 to thousands of people dancing and singing in rhythmic, choreographed harmony. But, last year we started seeing teenagers take part in flash mobs that were sinister and included crimes. The newest incident is one of the largest crime infused flash mob.
A Walmart in Jacksonville, Florida, was hit by nearly 300 unruly teenagers that had come from a nearby late-night party that had been broken up by police, according to The Blaze. They stole and destroyed merchandise, including a security scanner with an estimated value of $1,500:
“They are stealing items, they are all over the store. You can imagine how fearful the customers were who were in there at that particular time,” Channel 4 crime analyst Ken Jefferson said.
None of the teens have been arrested at this time, but it is likely that there will be arrests after the footage is fully investigated by authorities. In one part of the video a man yells:
“Hey, I got food stamps for sale, for real, dog!”
The store is in the midst of complete mayhem. So embarrassing. Young people! GET IT TOGETHER!
