As we all know, the Miami Heat took home a big win last Thursday that has been a long time coming. Everywhere they go, people will make an even more special effort than ever before to get a chance at an autograph or maybe even a photograph.
When LeBron James agreed to an interview with Sports Illustrated, he had no idea that he’d be in the middle of another photo spread outside of the magazine. He was staying at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove to meet with the magazine’s people, when a couple who was getting married in the hotel snatched him up.
The bride Jamie Kolnick, didn’t care that her husband Shaun was seeing her before the wedding as they were getting ready for pre-wedding photos anyway. So, not only did their photographer snap a photo of them with LeBron, but 50-60 other folks got the photo and probably uploaded it to every social media site in minutes.
The couple, and everyone else, was ecstatic over the fact that they might get a chance at seeing him as it was rumored that James was staying at the hotel. The wedding coordinator Jen Schwartz told the Huffington Post:
“It was funny, because the bride’s brother was just dying, he was beside himself with excitement,” Schwartz said, laughing. “And at some point, she looked at him and said, ‘Okay, you’re more excited that LeBron James is here than you are for my wedding!’”
Kolnick said that her husband went traitor as well. She said he went directly into man mode and showed his man crush for the now official King of the game:
“I was like, ‘Who cares? It’s a photo with LeBron!’ It was really unexpected and exciting,” said Kolnick. “Shaun was like, ‘That’s enough! We don’t need to get married anymore.’”
