Grandmother Walks 6 Miles to School with Grandchild on Her Back (Video)

Xiang Yuncui carries her 7-year-old granddaughter six miles to school over mountainous terrain every school day.

There are so many of us that feel we have it so bad.  But there is still plenty of hard luck to go around.  Some folks tell stories that are so unbelievably arduous and/or tragic, we forget all about our story and think of how we can help those we hear about.  Some of us have a completely different outlook on life when we hear these stories  and this one will definitely make you feel silly if you’ve been complaining about your burdens.

Xiang Yuncui starts her day at 5 a.m.  She gets her 7-year-old granddaughter, Tan, ready for school, fixes her breakfast and throws her up on her back for the daily six-mile walk they take to Tan’s school, according to the Huffington Post.  The report doesn’t include Yuncui’s age, but it is clear from her picture that she’s no spring chicken.  The hike normally takes 2 hours.  Shakin’ your head, right?  Unbelievable?  Well, there’s more!

Don’t jump to conclusions about Tan being spoiled either.  She’s not exactly one of those oversized, past the age to be in a stroller kids and that’s why grandma is throwing her on her back.  No!  She totes Tan to school because she has cerebral palsy.  Four years ago, Tan’s father died in a car accident and her Mom had to go away to find a job.  That left only grandma to care for her and care for her is an understatement for what her grandmother does.
