In kindergarten and first grade, the school always asks that the parent provide clothes for the child in case of an “accident.” Well, normally those accidents are in the form of wetting their clothes and some of the child might say the teacher wouldn’t allow them to go to the bathroom. “The teacher didn’t see my hand, so I couldn’t go” is a popular excuse. But, long after the child has grown up and is in high school, the last thing on their mind is that their would be an accident because the teacher wouldn’t let them go.
But that is exactly what happened in San Diego’s Patrick Henry High School, where a 14-year old female student was told by her art teacher Gonja Wolf, that she could not leave her room to go to the bathroom. The 14-year old female student was then instructed to relieve herself in a bucket in a classroom closet. The entire event humiliated the girl, so much so, that her family is suing the school for tuition at a private school for the remainder of her high school years.
YES! That is just the tip of the iceberg. The lawsuit also includes a cool $10k in the meantime (although, they should be going for much higher).
