Have you ever wondered why Walmart (secretly called “The W” by an elite group of Walmarters) is able to beat everyone else’s prices on, seemingly, everything? Well, a class action lawsuit against the retail behemoth’s third party suppliers may give clarity into that very question.
According to the Huffington Post, a class action lawsuit that is gearing up against the third party suppliers that supply Walmart and various similar retailers detail horrendous intimidation and wage undercutting. In the report the lawsuit alleges:
“…workers ‘spend their workdays performing strenuous, unskilled physical labor in an environment where the temperature often exceeds 90 degrees.’ Furthermore, bosses ‘routinely responded with threats of retaliation and actual retaliation, including by sending the inquiring workers home without pay, refusing to give them work the next day … and imposing other forms of discipline on them.'”
The suppliers aren’t being shunned by Walmart, but they may not know the supplier is somehow keeping the cost down for them, right? Walmart is in business with these companies and the report insinuates that the supervisors are treating their employees this way either because Walmart knows and they will drop them if the costs go up or they are just struggling to keep the account. You be the judge.
