Republicans try to draw President Obama into their circus every day. They constantly attack him, belittle him, even disrespect him with their ignorance of the facts on every issue concerning the American people. The latest blame they put on Obama was the climbing gas prices. This time the President put the real facts on the table and shamed the GOP.
According to the Huffington Post, President Obama spoke out yesterday on the statements made by House Speaker John Boehner and Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), that under President Obama’s administration the gas prices have “doubled.” Barrasso, along with blaming the president for the doubling of the gas prices said that Obama is “defensive on this issue.”
But President Obama isn’t defensive, he merely finds himself debunking the ignorance that has been placed in the media as fact. The president set them straight saying:
“Anybody who tells you that we can just drill our way out of this problem does not know what they’re talking about, or they’re not telling you the truth — one or the other,” Obama said at an event held in New Hampshire to tout his energy policies.
He went on to express the fact that:
“…oil production in the United States has hit its highest level in eight years, that more rigs are operating in the U.S. than in the rest of the world combined, that more than 400 drilling permits have been granted since the massive BP oil spill, and that for the first time in 13 years, oil imports account for less than half of all U.S. oil consumption.”
THAT’S MY PRESIDENT!! Read more here and see how he even took the time to fill them in with his strategy. He has to repeatedly remind them that he is a planning president not a failing one.
