It appears that we are preparing for another attack on the nation’s congressman and media organizations. Remember in 2011, when five people were killed by mailings containing anthrax which was often reported as a “powdery substance?” Well the same attacks have occurred, but with no casualties thus far.
According to Reuters, warnings about impending mailings postmarked Oregon have been sent to major media outlets as well as tv shows. The message warns that letters have been sent to all 100 U.S. senators and that 10 contain a deadly pathogen. The letters are signed by “the MIB” and the reason behind the deadly letters that are supposedly going to be sent or have already been sent is a demand for the end to corporate money and lobbying in U.S. politics.
Some TV shows and media outlets that received the warning messages were the New York Times, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the Washington Post, The Colbert Report, USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, to name a few. Thank goodness no one has been harmed according to the FBI:
“The FBI is aware of this situation and is responding accordingly. So far, none of the letters have contained a hazardous substance,” said FBI spokesman Chris Allen in Washington.
