Apple and Microsoft are always trying to change things that we don’t necessarily need changed. The problems we really have are not addressed. The functionality is never called into question, but for some reason there is an update that doesn’t include making it function any better. Now Microsoft has really gone bananas and have decided they don’t need the “Start” button any longer.
According to Yahoo! News, the company’s change will be effective in Beta form at the end of the month. The area called the Metro UI will be turned into a “hot spot.” They are trying to offer a more “consistent” environment between the programs and settings of your computer and the desktop.
No, it doesn’t sound like a very big deal, but it will surely change the process you use. You may feel left-handed for a moment, but the loss of the start button is supposed to add continuity to our experience. Read more here.
