The Golden Globes have given Idris Elba his due with the big award for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or a Motion Picture Made for Television”. The win comes from his celebrated role of “Luther”; a troubled, rough around the edges, british police detective who doesn’t mind bending the law to catch his killer. The show runs on BBC America, but has obviously, garnered him a strong following in American television.
But back in 2002, he hit the American radar hard with his role as Stringer Bell on HBO’s “The Wire.” He has solidified him as a movie star with roles in “Takers”, “The Losers”, and last year’s highly anticipated blockbuster “Thor”.
After the Golden Globes, Elba was over the moon with his win and revealed upcoming projects including “Thor 2″. He will revisit his role of the gatekeeper, Heimdall. The film’s production time and release date haven’t been revealed, but at least we know both the film and Idris Elba will return. Check him out! Congrats Idris!
