Did U.S. Marines Really Urinate on Dead Taliban Soldiers? (Video)

They say all is fair in love and war, well not this time.  It appears that war has taken a toll on some of our soldiers and they have become the opposite of what they were meant to represent.  They were supposed to be our first line of defense against the enemy and peacekeepers amongst the civilians.  And no matter what, have a sense of decency and reverence for their task at all times.

A viral video that hit the Internet on Tuesday and has been circulated on all the major networks morning talk shows, shows Marines allegedly urinating on dead Taliban soldiers.  The men are dead and you desecrate their bodies?  Is that the image we want to portray to the world?  But the world had a good view of our military during the Bush administration and the Guantanamo Bay debacle

There have been many stories of horrendous acts on the part of our soldiers dating back to Vietnam.  Where did our decency go?  We’re not sure what happens in the face of war, but this group of young men  in Scout Sniper Team 4 will recover whatever decency they may have if they’re court martialed.  If government officials can prove that they are actually urinating on the Taliban bodies that is the next course of action, according to the Huffington Post.

Marine corps spokesman, Capt. Gregory Wolf, said in an email:

“…neither the origin nor authenticity of the video had been confirmed. He added that the “actions portrayed are not consistent with our core values and are not indicative of the character of the Marines in our corps.”

Really Capt. Wolf?  Well, we’re going to refer to our Marine that stood up for those folks at OWS and stay optimistic that these four idiots do not represent the Marines we know and love.
