Hey South Side Chicago! Are you feeling like something strange has been going on with your service every time you invite a technician in your home to fix something? For instance, is the box still giving you trouble or you notice roaches around your television? Did you say yes to any of the above? Well, you may be eligible to get in on the class action lawsuit in your area.
According to the Chicago Tribune, a class action lawsuit was filed Monday in an effort for employees at the South Side Comcast location to stop being treated as though they were enslaved rather than employed. The 11 plaintiffs include 10 employees and one former employee that was fired in 2009.
The lawsuit claims that the South Side Comcast office “has engaged in an ongoing pattern of race discrimination against African-American employees.” They said they were in a “hostile work environment” and were forced to install faulty boxes or even boxes that were roach infested in South Side homes. They also said they were often called “lazy or ghetto techs.”
In contrast, the North side or suburban Comcast gave their employees chances to advance, equal pay and fair evaluations. Now what kinda bull shiggedy is that?! Read more here.
