One lion escaped from Muskingum County Animal Farm in Zanesville, Oh. and was killed Wednesday morning October 19, 2011.

Lions and Tigers and Bears, oh my! Is what folks are saying in a small city in Ohio where lions, wolves, bears, giraffes and other exotic animals are trying to make their way back to Madgascar.  Not really, but doesn’t it sound like a scene from that movie?

According to MSNBC, the animals were somehow released from a private animalreserve, Muskingum County Animal Farm in Zanesville, Oh., where the owner, Terry Thompson, was found dead and believed to have released the animals before committing suicide. So far, 25 of the animals have been killed by authorities and the report stated that up to 48 more may have retreated to the woods.

School has been cancelled and lots of roads have been outfitted with neon signs telling people to stay in their cars and call 911 if they see exotic animals on the road.  The animals are adults and believed to be very dangerous.
