Royalty is an understatement for the Duchess of Alba. She has more aristocratic titles than anyone in the world. She is worth nearly $5 billion and she is marrying a “commoner” more than 20 years her junior that she has dated for several years. Her children are upset, but she danced a jig after marrying the now Duke of Alba.
Maria del Rosario Cayetena Alfonsa Victoria Eugenia Francisca Fitz-James Stuart y del Silva is head of the 539 -year old house of Alba and her distinction affords her the right to not kneel before the Pope, and the right to ride on horseback into the Seville Cathedral (which sounds like an archaic privilege). It’s also been reported that her property is 170 times the size of Monaco. The spanish dignitary has divided her property amongst her children, which includes Christopher Columbus’ first map of America, castles, and artwork by the masters, yet her children are still disatisfied with the union.
All of her six children attended the wedding though, with the exception of her only daughter, Eugenia Martinez de Irujo, 42, who came down with chicken pox. Check out the story below.
