Facebookers are worried because they just put up their 3000th picture, liked someone’s inspirational words for the 20,000th time and played an unsuccessful game of Cityville just as someone asked them to re-post this message:
“IT IS OFFICIAL. IT WAS EVEN ON THE NEWS. FACEBOOK WILL START CHARGING DUE TO THE NEW PROFILE CHANGES. IF YOU COPY THIS ON YOUR WALL YOUR ICON WILL TURN BLUE AND FACEBOOK WILL BE FREE FOR YOU. PLEASE PASS THIS MESSAGE ON, IF NOT YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED IF YOU DO NOT PAY.”
This message has ruined the day of millions. They are certain that this message is accurate. Why? They saw it on Facebook! Since when did Facebook become a reputable source? Now Facebook has to do serious damage control on the chain letters and links that have led their semi-customers to believe they will be paying for their pages.
