Eight children, all the boys named after their father Nephra Payne and one daughter, Nefertiti, were abducted from foster care Tuesday, September 20, 2011.
The foster care system is supposed to be a safe place for children who have been somehow mistreated by their parents. The children are supposed to be able to feel like they can relax and find some sort of stability. But yesterday, the foster care system failed eight children that were abducted by their parents who had abused them.
According to New York Daily News, the foster care system has taken a blow in Queens, Ny., as two parents, who were accused of abusing their children, were able to abduct them and make a run for it yesterday. The children’s mother Shanel Nadal, 28, went to visit her children, seven boys and one girl, from ages 11 months to 11 years old, on Tuesday at the Forestdale agency on 112th St. Somehow, the woman was able to get all of the children out of the center. It is believed by authorities that their father, Nephra Payne, 34, is somehow involved in the abduction.
It seems to have been an unsupervised visit…at least temporarily. Now all authorities know is that the children are somewhere with their mother on the lam. All seven of the boys are named Nephra Payne after their father and their only daughter is named Nefertiti. Please write down all the information that could lead to their capture and the children’s return to safety.
Police said they suspect the family is traveling in:
- a black 1996 Chevrolet Suburbanwith New York license plate number EXZ5896
- black 2003 Ford sedan;
- or a 1993 black Infiniti
