The Troy Davis story is known all over the world for the U.S. justice system’s fascinating inability to throw out the case against this man. He has sat on death row for 20 years and has been kept from the fate of death several times before because it is obvious that the lack of evidence against him leaves plenty of reasonable doubt that he is guilty.
The NAACP and many other organizations are seeking justice for Davis through petitions, rallies, letters to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles, even the social networks have taken up the cause. Over the years, crusaders for Davis have included Harry Belafonte, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, former President Jimmy Carter, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, all have rallied behind Davis and condemned the U.S. legal system for his continued incarceration and death sentence.
The NAACP has several ways that you can help Davis receive another stay of execution Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Read here. Also, check out the emotional and encouraging video placed on YouTube by his sister Kimberly Davis. God bless the Davis family!
