A lot of us know awkward people. We might feel a bit awkward ourselves. But, there is an awkward black girl out there that is shaking up the world, one monitor at a time. She’s going through all of those awkward moments that we may have experienced at one time or another and is showing us how to navigate through them.
Issa Rae is on her eighth episode of “The Mis-Adventures of Awkward Black Girl.” The 26-year old Stanford graduate has built a hefty online fan base that helped her raise over $44,000 in 30 days through Kickstarter to keep her show going, according to BET.com.
She is really surprised at how her fans grew so rapidly, but is happy with the success however it has come. She’s even been able to quit her job at the non-profit and focus on her dream.
