Kanye West is a talented artist, but some of his artistry exhibits a, shall we say, interesting outlook on life. Maybe that is what makes him so gifted. But, whatever the case may be, he’s bordering on the strange and extraterrestial with the new video, “Monster”.
In our reports, we have often referred to the people who have committed inhumane, demonic, psychopathic crimes as “monsters.” One would agree that the video really does explore the world of a true monster’s life. Our only concern is if it was Kanye’s intent to be associated with those ideas.
Does he want to perpetuate something that, as he notes in the intro to the video was only meant to be viewed as “art”, as something more complicit with those so-called monsters out there that will lose this in translation and look at it as a salute to their work? Surely, that was not his intention, but there’s some real sickos out there that will do nothing more than use his video for acceptance. The video has profound meaning, but in Kanye’s attempt to glimpse the life of a monster it comes up more as The Kanye Horror Picture Show. Check it out and let us know what you think. The song is a winner!
