Japan has been hit by one of the world’s worst catastrophes and certain American celebrities are finding humor in their situation? This in no way is the time for jokes. The culprits are 50 Cent, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour’s Press Secretary and now Gilbert Godfried. But Godfried works for AFLAC which is the #1 insurer for Japan. Shouldn’t he have known better?
There are so many celebrities that are losing their mind these days (Charlie Sheen “is like three crazy people”) that they’re finding it harder and harder to discern THEIR reality from reality. But Godfried was fired post haste by AFLAC which does 75 percent of their business in Japan, according to Britain’s Daily Mail.
A couple jokes Godfried used on Twitter were: “I just split up with my girlfriend, but like the Japanese say: ‘There’ll be another one floating by any minute now.’ ” “‘What does every Japanese person have in their apartment? Flood lights’ ” And the joke he probably made after he knew the other two were the nail in his coffin at AFLAC: “Japan called me. They said: “Maybe those jokes are a hit in the U.S., but over here, they’re all sinking.”
Not to mention 50 Cents’ remarks on Twitter: ‘Look this is very serious people I had to evacuate all my hoes from LA, Hawaii and Japan. I had to do it. Lol.’
Get it together people! You have more living to do yourself. Be careful out there. Read the rest of the story here.
