Have you ever seen one of those commercials where there’s a puppy in a box under the Christmas tree and the kids get up that morning to find the loosely put together box exploding with their new puppy? Wellllllllllllll, this isn’t that scenario, but that’s what this woman was trying to convey in her defense. Needless to say, the judge was not buying it.
The woman, Stacey Champion, said she was mailing the dog from minnesota to her 11-year old son in Georgia. She said to the judge, “I wanted him to be really surprised.” She talked as if everyone could relate to what she was saying and that it was a normal thing to do. Not only that, she went to the post office demanding her refund for the postage of $22 to mail the dog, apparently because he hadn’t made it to his location. Before she went to court her concern was a small monetary amount that was on the dog’s collar.
Stacey Champion! We are going to give you the EUR’s Forrest Gump award for “Stupid is as Stupid does.” Our judges voted unanimously that the one comment that put you over the top for this award was, “They don’t have a display of what should be shipped and what should not be shipped.” Check out the report.
