Imagine this…if you can. You’re out somewhere with your family and, like a million other times, ask everyone to get together so you can take their picture. Now seconds after they line up, you’re shot dead. But when police saw the last picture you had taken, they notice that you have indeed solved the crime against you. The shooter is standing behind your family… in the photo.
According to the Guardian, this is exactly what happened to a family in the Philippines during a family photo on New Year’s eve. Reynaldo Dagsa was asleep when his family, per his request, came to get him up to celebrate just before midnight. His wife, daughter and mother-in-law all smiled for the picture he took of them standing next to the family car.
They believe that the shooter, who has a rap sheet for stealing cars, sought revenge against Dagsa for calling authorities on him last year. Also standing in the photo, is who police believe is the shooter’s accomplice. They were both arrested a couple days after the shooting due to the photo that the family submitted. It ran in the local newspaper.
