Yesterday we reported on the dead blackbirds in Arkansas and now that strange occurrence has been trumped by the thousands of fish that washed up on the beach of the Arkansas river in what is being estimated at 100,000. But, then we find out that thousands of fish in Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay have started to wash up on the beach as well. Coincidence? Scientific explanation? Many will say no to both.
According to the Maryland Department of the Environment and University of Arkansas’ Aquaculture and Fisheries Center, these things have happened before and they have a perfectly good explanation for it all. It’s the cold! The fish in Arkansas experienced a population “boom” that left them scrambling for food and some are weak and immune systems compromised and when the waters got cold BAM! They couldn’t fight off sickness…so there you go! A similar explanation was given for the dead fish in Maryland.
Scientists have to be objective and first find the most literal and logical explanation for such an event. But, many Christians will probably be taking to the streets next week with their “Repent Now!” signs. Check out the reports coming out of Maryland and Arkansas. Here’s footage of the many fish washing up on the shores of the Chesapeake.
