Elizabeth Edwards, wife of former presidential hopeful John Edwards, may be realizing her last days. She has long been a cancer survivor going in and out of remission, but now it appears that the cancer has overwhelmed her body. The doctors have taken her off her treatment calling it “unproductive.” She has accepted the bleak outcome that comes with that. According to CNN, she has released a heartfelt message to the public.
In a valiant and dignified manner, Elizabeth Edwards is beginning to accept her untimely demise. Part of her statement to the public reads:
“You all know that I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces – my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. These graces have carried me through difficult times and they have brought more joy to the good times than I ever could have imagined….But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful.”
John Edwards forced the Edwards family into the spotlight when he decided to run for the 2008 Presidency. But then the spotlight became a negative light when he was caught up in a scandalous affair with Rielle Hunter that resulted in him fathering a child with his mistress.
