BP Flubs Again with Oil Sales to Iran

What in the hell is going on over at British Petroleum, affectionately known as BP?  First they are responsible for one of the largest disasters in oceanic history with millions of gallons of their oil spilled into the Gulf and now they’re caught secretly making oil sales with Iran.  According to the Huffington Post, they could be in violation of the “Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Divestment Act (CISADA) signed by President Obama in July 2010.”  This Act states that companies or individuals are restricted from selling refined petroleum products to Iran in excess of $1 million within a year.  If they are caught doing so, they are “subject to three or more out of a possible nine sanctions.”

While BP, by name, has no loyalty to America, they do have legal obligations and responsibilities throughout the globe that keep them in business and this could be a nail in their coffin.  If sanctions are levied against the company, they may lose big.  BP maintains that they did not sell any oil to Iran during the updated CISADA signed by the President.

Read more here on these shady characters.  Can you say boycott?  Surely, someone will be calling for one soon.

  1. Hello! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and tell you I genuinely enjoy reading through your posts. Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that cover the same subjects? Appreciate it!

  2. I was curious if you ever thought of changing the structure of your website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?
