*The 99 Cents stores are the business; this is where the discount shopper really lives. BNet recently reported that the Dollar Tree stores and 99 Cents Only stores are putting up a substantial fight against discount bosses like WalMart.
Since earlier this year, big bargain stores have been pushing hard to entice low income shoppers, but they seem to be struggling to keep the interest of consumers as smaller places give them a run for their money.
The great thing about the dollar stores is that new merchandise is always coming in. You also always know how far your dollar will stretch, hence the name of the stores. Maybe you can’t find an iPod at the 99 Cents store, but you can go grocery shopping on a $5 budget and feed a family for a day — at least. School supplies and basic necessities are abundant there as well. I know when I was in college, I’d stop in the Dollar Tree or the 99 Cents store first, before I took that treacherous journey to WalMart… Being that it is a known fact that WalMart execs, the family and everyone at top are exploiting the services of people across the globe, their own employees, and even their customers is enough to get me to choose a smaller store over them anytime.
Regardless, shopping smart can be even smarter at dollar stores. You are bound to get a bargain every time.
