NY Student Gets Too Real at Graduation

*A phenomenal and obviously outspoken student at Hunter College High School in New York spoke out about the lack of diversity within the school’s admissions policies. The magnet school which offers a free education to students of exceptional academic and intellectual capabilities who score in the top 10 percentile of their class are admitted.

At the most recent graduation, Justin Hudson, a Black student, shared with his class that he felt undeserving of the education he received because justice was not being served. Students of color, particularly Blacks, Hispanics, and Native Americans, he felt have been marginalized and disenfranchised. His speech gained national acclaim for its controversial and radical stance.

Instead of giving the ho, hum grad speech on success, he shared his thoughts using his first amendment rights and that podium.

I bet the administration didn’t see this one coming.
