Some people will go through hell or high water…or the airport to have an exotic pet. Roberto Sol Cabrera Zavaleta, 38, was shaking in his boots when he was discovered in a Mexican airport with monkeys under his clothing. He said he paid for the monkeys, but he immediately started sweating the moment authorities asked him, “What are you declaring today?” (loosely translated) Two of the monkeys were dead. He had transported them from Peru.
The man wanted them as pets and didn’t want them hurt by x-rays, so he moved them all around from his luggage to his person. The monkeys were safe and saved, but he’s on his way to jail during their investigation.
