Former White House Social Secretary Joins Johnson Publishing Staff

If you’re not familiar with Desiree Rogers, she was the White House Social Secretary for the Obama’s who caught hell after the two party crashers got into the President’s first state dinner without being invited.  She resigned from her post last year and now has stepped back on the scene to accept a position with the embattled Johnson Publishing company to try and strategize the magazines into a promising future.

Rogers has been a longtime friend of Linda Johnson Rice, the daughter of the late John and Eunice Johnson, who runs the publishing empire they left behind.  According to the Huffington Post, Rice submitted this statement:

“The benefit of Rogers’ counsel and connections come at a time when Johnson Publishing, the world’s largest African-American owned and operated publishing company, has battled against steep advertising declines — like much of print media.”
