‘Delete Your Facebook’ Campaign Launched

There’s some real Judas’s out there that have turned   severly anti-Facebook.  But no one’s listening, right?  As with any site, there are different issues with it that might frustrate you from time to time, but overall, people (and me) find Facebook invaluable.  A lot of users connect with their entire world through it.  Those users will complain to Facebook and/or simply change their settings and go on with life as usual.

The campaign makes no sense when they give you an option of tailoring your account to your specific needs.  The turncoats that are leading this campaign don’t like to read or follow directions.  It would be different if the site said, “We are changing the site to fit our advertising and/or revenue plan.  This switch makes your Facebook experience free.  We apologize if our new privacy policy inconveniences you,  but this is the way it must be.”

But did they say that? NO!  They simply made us aware of the changes they were making and gave us THE OPTION of changing with them.  Some people communicate with their family and friends from far away places and this is the life line between them.  Even grandparents are signing on to see their grandchildren that they may only get to see once a year…if that!  Some are using the service for their small businesses and events.  The service may save someone’s life with the use of Facebook mobile.  They can send a video or picture of a crime in progress or even send a distress call to their whole family from the side of the road.  Someone’s bound to respond!

Fortunately,  Huffington Post reported a whopping “several hundred pledges–about 780 at the time of writing.”  With over 300 million account holders, surely Facebook is shaking in their boots at the prospect of these rabble rousers ruining them.  Check out how these “protesters” (which will get new Facebook pages after the dust settles) are campaigning here.

  1. Good blog! I really love how it’s easy on my eyes as well as the data are well written. I am wondering how I could be notified whenever a new post has been made. I have subscribed to your rss feed which should do the trick! Have a nice day!
