Which really is simply calling for preventive maintenance. It’s hard to get men to the doctor as it is, so saying go to the doctor is fundamental.
Another item on the list is to exercise regularly. But men you don’t have to be in touch with your feminine side to adhere to an aerobic workout to strengthen the heart and lungs. The gym isn’t all about who can lift the most weight although they advise that, “Resistance training is the only type of exercise that slows declines in muscle mass, bone density and strength.”
And last but not least, the list includes managing stress. We understand that fearing DWB and even worse DWBBM (Driving While Being a Black Man) is one of the many stresses black men worry about each day. So blackdoctor.org advises managing stress with meditation, yoga, deep breathing, or listening to soothing music (replace your Lil Wayne with a little Luther) as some possibilities to alleviate high stress levels.
