Hampton has been trying desperately to get qualified candidates for their subjects in math, science, technology, or engineering to come to their school. The National Science Foundation has given them 1.4 million to play with and recruiting is at the top of that list. The end result is there are too many students who don’t have a realistic view of what it takes to be an engineer and they come in and drop it and move on to another major.
The idea is to use the money to recruit students who are prepared and want to learn the sciences, but then there’s also the program where they teach you how to teach these subjects as you learn to be a teacher in the sciences. Whatever the case may be, conquer your fear of math or science and move forward and get this money for school. WE are competing globally with fierce competition. The world’s stage is not waiting for us to walk across it, we have to step up and run.
