Prince William is trying to walk in the footsteps of his mother, the late Princess Di. He recently spent time sleeping on the streets of London with the homeless through an organization that he has been a patron of called Centrepointe. Everyday, the charity “houses and supports over 800 vulnerable homeless young people,” according to Centrepointe.
Prince William has been trying to find a way to highlight teenage homelessness. He was first introduced to the homeless problem of Britain when his mom took him to a shelter in 1996, along with younger brother Harry.
The second in line to the thrown put together the idea to sleep on the street with Centrepointe CEO, Seyi Obakin. The idea became a harsh reality last week when the dangerous elements were not simply the threat of drug dealers and pimps, but the temperatures that fell below freezing.
