NBA Players Given Steep Fines for Tweeting

What kind of petty foolishness is going on in the NBA when all of a sudden a rule has surfaced that says you can’t Tweet during a game?   Amare Stoudemire, forward for the Phoenix Suns, and Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyson Chandler were both caught doing the unthinkable during their games last Wednesday.

On Sunday, the league decided they would fine them both $7500 for the violation.  Seeing as how Tweeter has only been alive for three years, it’s safe to say that this is a new rule.  Wouldn’t it have made more sense to say, “OK, in case you guys didn’t know, we’ve implemented a new rule that states you cannot participate in virtual social networking during game time.  So stop the Tweeting, capeesh?!”

Check out the full story here.  You won’t believe what Rasheed Wallace was fined on Friday.
