Here we go again!   We have to put this story up and let the family know that we have them in our prayers.  We are now mourning the loss of yet another bright light in our community.

More specifically, the Long Beach community in Southern California has lost an honor roll student and track athlete.

The young lady, 16-year old Melody Ross, was an innocent bystander at the Homecoming game for her high school when a fight broke out and things escalated immediately.

She and two other young men were shot and wounded and taken to the hospital where she later died.  The other two are expected to be fine.  The Homecoming game was over and the Woodrow Wilson High School football team lost the game.

The Associated Press reported that the football coach heard between five and seven shots being fired into the crowd.  At this time, no one has a clue why someone would begin shooting into a crowd of hundreds.
