Sharron "Kay" Thornton, blind since 2000 has regained sight.
This is a miraculous surgery that was discovered overseas to help the blind regain sight. For over 50 years, the surgery had been tried in foreign countries and now, for the first time in the U.S., it has been tried and was a success.
The woman who received the surgery, Sharron “Kay” Thornton, had been blind for nine years. Doctors in Miami removed her eye tooth and part of her jaw bone and inserted them in her cornea. The tooth is supposed to provide a mouth-like environment providing moisture to the eye where it was once dry.
This woman will now see seven of her grandchildren for the first time. Sounds unbelievable right? Check it out:
