Are you familiar with the case of the Dunbar Village teenage animals in West Palm Beach, Fl.? In 2007, up to 10 animals tortured, raped and forced a woman to perform oral sex on her 12-year old son?
Well, two of the approximately 10 animals that carried out this horrendous crime have been found guilty.
Some of the assailants are still at large. The four that were captured and brought to justice are: Tommy Lee Poindexter, 20, Nathan Walker Junior, 19, and Avion Lawson, 16.
The fourth animal Jakaris Taylor, 18, brokered a deal with the state back in 2007, the year the incident occurred.
He agreed to plead guilty to three charges “including one count of burglary with assault or battery with a firearm while wearing a mask and two counts of sexual battery by multiple perpetrators with a firearm while wearing a mask,” local ABC affiliate WPBF reported.
By doing that the state dropped 11 other charges against him and offered him a mandatory 20 years in prison. But, if he reneges on the deal in any way, he will face life.
Now the youngest of the assailants, Avion Lawson, who was only 14 and is now 16 wants to get a deal like Taylor’s. He has also cooperated with police to cut a deal and testify against the others. But his situation, fortunately, is still looking really shaky because his own attorney said that the judge is still going to give him a minimum of 49 years in prison. According to the books, “he faces a maximum 11 life sentences plus 50 years and Palm Beach Circuit Judge Marx will sentence him on Oct. 13 to no less than 49 years in prison.
