Confirmed Sellout: Now Michael Steele Says Obama ‘Is The Magic Negro’ (Audio)

The chairman of the Republican National Committe, Michael Steele, is showing again why he’s a sellout and Republican party patsy. We won’t even bother to mention the other obvious: he’s also a jealous, Obama hater.

He recently agreed with a caller, while hosting conservative host/pundit Bill Bennett’s radio show, who said that President Obama is “the magic negro.”

Interestingly, as ThinkProgress.org reminds, during the January campaign for chairmanship of the RNC, Steele slammed his then opponent, Chip Saltsman’s distribution of a CD with a song called “Barack the Magic Negro.”

“It doesn’t help at all,” Steele said at the time. “Absolutely, it reinforces a negative stereotype of the party

However, as we said, that sentiment is suddenly out the window. Now that he’s the chairman and needs to suck up to Rush Limbaugh and the party’s hard core fringe right – just to keep his job, suddenly the “magic negro” reference sounds good:

CALLER: It’s just like the LA Time said last year or two years ago: He is
the magic Negro.

STEELE: Yeah he — [laughing]. You read that too, huh? [still laughing]

CALLER: Oh yeah. I read that too. Even when things go wrong, he still
manages to come out smelling like a rose.

STEELE: Well, yeah.

  1. Why is he a sellout. Is it because he is not a democrat? You guys tear your own people down. You say you want progress and hope. That’s not true, you just want to be crabs in a bucket and try to keep pulling the rest of the stupid ones back in.If you actually looked at policies you would see the democrats are fooling all minorities. Hell I’m not 100percent sure but I think Bush had more minorities in his administration. So you should be callin Obama the sell out. He’s just a puppet.

  2. I would not call him a sell out. He appeared to be diplomatic and providing feedback to the caller. I felt like he was trying to derail the tone of the callers comments and at the same time not turn the conversation into a one sided discussion. This conversation really could have taken on a completely different tone. The use of the word Negro itself raises hairs on any black persons neck. Now “THINKLOGICALLY” I disagree with the comments you are making. When you refer to “you guys” whom are you referring too? Please be more specific. And how does this become a discussion based on politcal views..this editorial is based on the magic Negro comment. Not every single political view made by either party or its members. You see my dude Specter was not cool with the views of the republicans and jumped ship..so who’s to say that either party views are accurate. It’s all relative. And aren’t they all “puppets” to use your terminology.. I have always viewed them as figure heads. I have no problem with numbers in cabinets, administrations. It does not matter who is on your team but how the team functions. I can debate on and on comparing functionality of every administration, but what does that solve. Absolutely nothing…Finger pointing is pointless as is confusing this comment made my Steele and the editorial based on the conversation as “crab in the barrel” mentality. Steele calls it like he sees at as does this editorial. We all have opinions.. just like you. ..
