Yesterday, the Sudanese government didn’t take nicely to the U.S. Congresspersons that came to their embassy in D.C. and demonstrated about the genocide occurring in Darfur. The present loss is at hundreds of thousands dead in the country.
The protest was to address the mayhem in the country along with the elimination of relief agencies that have attempted to assist with the crisis and help the people. Even though protesters were there for a good cause, the Sudanese secret service line was crossed and the protestors were warned, but were ignored.
Then, off to jail with our congresspersons: Donna Edwards, D-Md.; Jim McGovern, D-Mass.; 60’s civil rights activist John Lewis, D-Ga.,; Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the only Muslim member of Congress, and Lynn Woolsey, D-Calif.
