It is being reported that the top municipal judge in Dallas, an African american man, recently wrote an article in a weekly newspaper that said, “black folks have been cleaning up white folks’ messes for hundreds of years.” According to the the judge he was merely praising the efforts of the Dallas’ first black prosecutor to reform the job.
Now what is the deal with what he said? We actually need to read his comments in full context to ever know. The city is seeking his resignation over the remarks. They should add a caveat, “If the comments are true, then all bets are off. He may keep his job.”
