Everybody knows black history is not fully integrated into American history so why knock it by distributing fliers that attract more hate. Plenty of whites feel we do not need civil rights organizations yet they cling to theirs dearly. Some folks are so misguided in believing blacks are the sole group that does not need collective protection of our history in their country. I have a problem with all those parades saluting foreign countries, but you can bet they are here to stay!

I believe who created the flier should have a). thought things through before proceeding with the distribution of the fliers and b). been a little bit more sensitive when trying to grab folks attention. Now don't get me wrong, the point that was trying to be made is valid, Black History should be taught every day because history is being made every day and we shouldn't have to wait until February to recognize the accomplishments. Until we are put in the text books, it is OUR responsibility to make sure that OUR history has some continuity. We have to tell our story so that OUR ancestor's struggles won't be in vain. This is what I tell my white counterparts at my job who are under the impression that we don't need to celebrate Black History anymore, or wonder why were celebrating. Again I reinterate that until we're intergrated into school text books we have a duty to educate the masses on their contributions to this great country of ours.
