White Gays Dummies Guide for Dealing with the Black Community

 It appears that the gay community and maybe some outside it are under the impression that being gay is for everybody.  It’s for anyone who believes wholeheartedly that they enjoy and love the same sex as themselves.  Well, nothing could be further from the truth if you were privy to the bird’s eye view on the news and on blogs exposing white gay rights activists hurling racial slurs, threats, and more during the protest over Proposition 8 (California’s legislation that bans gay marriage).  It’s apparent that the openly white gay community hasn’t come out the closet on it’s racist opinions of African Americans.

What’s up y’all?!

Rumor has it that Mr. Camel…AKA Jay-Z will not be going to the inauguration.  According to my sources they asked Jay not to attend the inauguration because he would be a target for more criticism to the Obama camp.  As if y’all don’t already know it, Jay Z has some songs that have some pretty risqué lyrics.  Although Obama admitted in his BET interview, prior to winning the democratic nomination, that he listened to Jay Z (the good stuff of course) the invitation being sent to the Carter household will more than likely be addressed to the Queen B with an RSVP for one.  Personally, I don’t blame the Obama camp.  With gay leaders all up in arms and protesting about the controversial pastor Rick Warren delivering the invocation at OBAMA’s inauguration, I don’t think the Obama camp would want or need Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton standing outside with their shovels re-burying the “N” word along with Jay Z CD’s.  Therefore, Jay-Jigga ain’t invited.  Nuff said…

The son of Backstreet Boy Brian Littrell has been hospitalized for an undisclosed illness.  The six-year-old Baylee Littrell has been in the hospital for a few days and is to begin treatment for the illness today.  The Littrell family asks that all Backstreet Boys fans please remember him in prayer.  Even if you aren’t a fan, pray that lil’ Baylee makes a complete recovery from the undisclosed illness.

Philanthropy is in the AIR.  Popular Atlanta DJ Frank Ski raised $100,000 for his Frank Ski Kids Foundation.  The wine auction that took place in his home attracted the who’s who of the ATL.  In attendance was super producer Jazzy Pha, Julius “Dr. J” Erving and Emmanuel Lewis.  Can you imagine Dr. J and Emmanuel Lewis standing side by side looking like a capital “I” and a period?!  A couple of the Atlanta Housewives dropped by to show their support as well.  DeShawn Snow came out and while there, she promoted the charity dinner she is having for her foundation.  Sheree Whitfield, former wife of former Atlanta Falcon Bob Whitfield, showed up (in my personal opinion) looking for a sponsor.  Y’all know she ain’t get that seven figure divorce settlement she was banking on and from what I hear she be bouncing $300 checks and what not.  Now she is back at the drawing board trying to find some unattractive, low self-esteem having, wealthy man.  You know…a dude that is kind of like her ex-husband in the looks department with a lil’ more loot.  According to my sources, when asked if she signed on to do another season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta she said despite the negative press of the show she had no issues with doing another season because it is free publicity for her upcoming clothing line.  Yeah right!! We all know she needs that steady paycheck seeing that her kids attend PUBLIC school and her $2 Million home is up for sale.  Sheree if you are out there just know there ain’t no future in your frontin’.  Nuff said…

Speaking of Philanthropy, R&B super producer, singer, dancer, writer, rapper, actor, Atlanta’s leading Grammy nominee and now VH1 Save the Music ambassador rolled up to M. Agnes Jones Elementary School in a convertible, blue, Bentley sedan, accompanied by a BIG BODY BENZ and another SUV to drop off a check for 30 G’s for instruments courtesy of VH1’s Save the Music Foundation and an anonymous donor. 

Side Bar-Okay, with all that “FAB-U-LO-SITY” I just knew that Ne-Yo was the donor of the 30K but that ain’t the case.  He was just the delivery boy.  Nuff said…

Dishin’ Dirt on Paris, Keyshia, and Sean Levert

What’s up y’all?!  Here is the dirt…

Our favorite heiress was ROBBED!!  Yes, our girl Paris Hilton got took for her paper…well jewelry that was worth a lot of paper.   According to the LAPD, the Hollywood Hills home of Paris Hilton was robbed by a man who wore a hooded sweatshirt and gloves.  The alleged robber forced entry into her front door, ransacked her bedroom and stole various items.  It is unknown what all was taken but it has been confirmed that $2 Million in jewels were stolen. Paris was not home at the time of the robbery and her security guard notified the authorities.  The break-in occurred the day after she debuted her brand new pink Bentley.  Is it just me or is anyone else wondering how the robber broke into the house through the front door with security on duty?

Okay y’all I had the opportunity to checkout Keyshia Cole’s new CD, “A Different Me” and I can say wholeheartedly that I don’t particularly care for it.  I won’t go as far as to say that I don’t like it but I will say that I don’t like it as much as the last CD.  She done pulled a Mary J. Blige on me.  Although, I am happy with her spiritual progress and overall growth as a young woman, I liked the “ruff around the edges” Keyshia a little better.  Don’t get it twisted, I still love me some Keyshia Cole.  Trust me when I tell you that I am tuned in to BET errrr Tuesday night.  Listen to snippets of “A Different Me”.

Speaking of Keyshia Cole, her mama Frankie, the STAR of BET’s “The Way It Is” had a chit chat with Kendra G and Touchtone from Philly’s 100.3 The Beat.  If you have ever watched the show you know that Frankie is CLEARLY who folks tune in to see every week (at least that is who I tune in to see).  She is so over the top that she actually believes that she is a REAL celebrity.  I can’t blame her though.  Folks actually pay her upwards of $2,000 to make an “appearance” at a club!!  Being OFF DA CHAIN as usual, Frankie talks about being clean for the last three years and why she does not want a man over the age of 35.  And for the LAST TIME she breaks down the meaning of her signature adage, “man down.”  Check out the interview:

Side Bar-On the real, why does Frankie look like a 12 year old boy dressed in his 16 year old sisters clothes?  I’m just sayin’…

Sean Levert’s death has prompted Cuyahoga County jail to re-evaluate their policies to give inmates meds for valid prescriptions.  All of this comes after the death of Sean Levert, 1/3 of the R&B group LeVert.  Sean died in part from withdrawals from Xanax after he was forced to go cold turkey for six days when officials refused to give him the prescribed meds.  Xanax is a benzodiazepine used to treat panic disorder and anxiety caused by depression.  I’m just mad that it took DEATH for them to re-evaluate their procedures when it comes to administering prescription meds.  I hope some heads roll over this flub-up.  Nuff said…

Okay, this ain’t got nothing to do with nothing but did y’all know that Chico DeBarge has a new CD coming out?  I didn’t either until one of my very reliable sources dropped a bug in my ear.  Chico has a CD coming out February 2009 appropriately entitled “Addiction.”  Don’t act like y’all ain’t know that all them DeBarge kids struggled with addiction.  Y’all saw that TV1 special”Unsung.”  Nuff said…

Palin Is Guilty By Association

 The Sarah Palin train just does not know where to stop.  Now, her daughter’s baby’s daddy’s mama is in trouble with the law.   It appears that poor little Bristol’s future mother-in-law was picked up for drugs.  The police served a search warrant of her home and turned up several felonies.  The reports don’t discuss how many drugs were in the home, but she was released from jail on $5,000 bail.

MTV Unplugged

 The Music Television channel has been experiencing some rocky times in ratings as of late.  We were all witness to the demise of Total Request Live –affectionately known as TRL– and the other shows are just swirling in the tank.  Viacom, the parent company, (that also owns BET), has started trimming the fat and heads have been rolling.  So, what’s new right?  Well, it seems that there is a backup plan on the horizon.  The network will soon see 16 new reality series that essentially put a camcorder in the hands of its participants and lets the good times roll…and only the good times.  The main objective is to bring back all that is good and motivational in the world.  MTV is finally refocusing and trying to keep shows like “From G’s to Gents” and drop shows like “50 Cent: The Money and the Power.” 

Television will feel the wrath of the economy in all of its channels soon.  In a minute, they’re going to mess around and lose the digital signal they’ve been incessantly worrying us about and we’ll all be back to pliers and rabbit ears and the programs will all be just like MTV, except everyone will be running around with camcorders showing their day of panhandling.  Read here and see what’s happening at what used to be a very popular channel.

 What’s up y’all?!!  Here is the dirt….

Did y’all know that Vanessa from the Cosby Show and Ron from A Different World are married?  Their real names are Tempestt Bledsoe and Darryl Bell and according to the Hollywood Reporter they are living in marital bliss.  So much so, that they are going to do a Fox reality show called “Househusbands of Hollywood.”  The show will focus on men who stay at home while their super successful women be on that paper chase.  Okay, all I want to know is why Tempestt married Darryl’s simple azz.  It’s a good thing that she majored in finance at NYU because we all know Darryl is not good with managing money and it ain’t like she’s got stacks on deck.  If y’all ain’t know already, Darryl was the heir to Daniels & Bell, the first black securities firm on Wall Street.  After his father Travers Bell Jr. died of a heart attack, Darryl took over the company and ran it into the ground.  He lost $14.9 million dollars in less than five years due to his inexperience.  Therefore, Tempestt best be keepin’ an eye on the loot.  Other cast members include Jillian Reynolds and her husband Grant and makeup artist Lisa Ashley and her husband, former LA Dodger Billy Ashley.

Side Bar-While I’m trippin’, I need to be asking Fox their definition of super successful.  I’m just sayin’…

Speaking of success, rumor has it that Michael Jordan is taking another jab at marriage.  I guess Juanita didn’t take enough of his money.  According to my sources, Mike is engaged to Cuban model Yvette Prieto and they are set to wed next week.  Congrats to the happy couple.

Okay, the Real Housewives of Atlanta are back in the news.  Our girl DeShawn Snow and the DeShawn Snow Foundation teamed up with former NFL defensive end Willie Whitehead and the Willie Whitehead Foundation to bring Christmas cheer to underprivileged children in Atlanta and Union City, GA.  Thirty children were invited to dine at Willie Whitehead’s Wing Lab in Union City and given gift cards to shop at Walmart.  Big ups to DeShawn and Willie for giving back to the community!
