We’ve been hearing some disturbing things about Katt Williams lately. The comedian has had a few no shows and a bout of unusual behavior. The first time things seemed to be “derailing” was when he had an outburst at the BET Hip-Hop Awards demanding an apology from the staff for, well, we don’t know. It was unclear to them as well. The end result was the awards being restructured for the rapper/producer T-Pain to host the show. It is reported that the straw that broke the camel’s back with his family was when he tried to check into a motel in Sumter, South Carolina in a bath robe with no i.d. You will also see him crouch down in the doorway for, well, we don’t know.
But before you make the hasty decision to call the man ”crazy” remember what Dave Chappelle said when he was interviewed on Inside the Actor’s Studio by James Lipton and was asked how he felt about Martin Lawrence.
“Let me ask you this, what is happening in Hollywood that a guy that tough will be on the street waving a gun screaming ‘They are trying to kill me.’ ? What’s going on? Why is Dave Chappelle going to Africa? Why does Mariah Carey make a $100 million dollar deal and take her clothes off on TRL? A weak person cannot get to sit here and talk to you. Ain’t no weak people talking to you. So what is happening in Hollywood? Nobody knows. The worst thing to call somebody is crazy. It’s dismissive. I don’t understand this person, so their crazy. That’s bullshit! These people are not crazy. They are strong people. Maybe the environment is a little sick. Oh, I’m droppin’ dimes tonight!” Now…roll ‘em!

Well at least you threw the Dave Chapelle in to aid in what you missed between the BET and SC incidents. Maybe I’ll forgive you since you did listen to and digested what Dave was saying very well. Or, did you??? Anyhow, here’s a message, seen online, from Katt’s publicist:
Actually, he appeared at both sets – BET and Conan but no one will tell that no will they. Ooooooooops, maybe they didn;t REsearch that when REsearching what that “crack’ or “crazy” word to use against him. Hmmmmmmm….
Straight from his Publicist. (pats self on back for quality REsearch on this)
Following an arduous 300 shows and an 18-month touring schedule that left him incredibly fatigued, Katt felt compelled to be with his family in an effort to deal with his stress. While doing so, he is under a doctor’s care.
As this is a private and personal matter, we hope the media will respect his family’s request for privacy.
