Wal-Mart Wants Obama Out!

Wal-mart is running scared because they believe in Obama.  They believe he will be in office and the prosperity the company has realized will be a distant memory almost instantly.  Why are they scared you ask?  Well, Obama is pro-union and Wal-mart is anti-union.  Obama has been behind a piece of legislation called Employee Free Choice Act that according to the Wall Street Journal would allow all companies to unionize easier and much more rapidly, more than quadrupling its membership.  The report also states that a little over a decade ago, Wal-Mart gave nearly all of it’s political funds to the Republicans.  Now, they have nearly split it down the middle.  Opportunists you say?  You would be right.  It only makes sense to give the money to the party who controls the government and will ultimately decide your business’ fate.  The report opens up a lot of other scathing details of the company’s history as it pertains to the fight against unionizing the one-stop shopping behemoth.  It chronicles stories of wrongful terminations, store closings and a host of treachery ”Wal-marters” may not be aware of.  Read here to see who really stands behind the curtain at America’s largest private company.

Palin Is A Liability On Ticket to White House

Palin, Palin, Palin.  What can we say that hasn’t already been expressed in the SNL sketches?  Today, the media just decided that Palin may be a dunce…oops! I mean, she might be dispensable to the Republican campaign.  Some of them are just upset that the Republican party paid $150,000 for her to be suitable for public consumption.  Her makeover included make-up and clothes that they maintain will be given to charity.  How messed up was this chick before this campaign?  I know she sounds like a member of the Clampett family, but she must’ve really been doing a great Elly May impression when John McCain came a knocking.

And what type of checks and balances do we have in place in our society to ensure those clothes get donated?  We should put together a gang of single mothers that need those suits for work and/or interviews and demand they be distributed through Salvation Army or Goodwill.  Those GOP’s are a tricky bunch.  We have to do our part to keep them honest right?  They need our help with wrapping up the campaign on November 5.

GM Cuts 401K Spending

 The big Three are really feeling the pain of the economy and it seems that making alliances would be the natural thing to do.  But, it appears that Chrysler is delaying any talk of merging with the car behemoth, GM.  GM appears to be in a scramble for cash flow as Reuters reports they lost $51 billion in the last three years.  Well, the employees are getting ready to feel GM’s wallet crunch November 1.  The company is preparing to cut back by cutting matching funds to employee 401k plans.  In an economy that has nearly come to a complete standstill it’s a wonder they can produce cars at all.  Read here for GM’s cost cutting tricks.

Medications Make Us Sick

Have you been watching the latest drug commercial for, um…let’s say erectile dysfunction and after the big build up about the drug the next 20 seconds of the ad sound something like: 

“This drug is very effective when you’re not having sex and not interested in immediate arousal.  It has been known to cause heart attacks and migraines in those under 60.  If you have a physician, are on any medications, prone to breathing, indigestion, can sit down or stand up, able to walk more than 2 feet, can whistle, jump on one foot and/or lift your head, consult a physician about your eligibility for this drug.”

 Well, it appears that a watchdog group has finally confirmed what we have already known for years…these new drugs on the market are nothing more than experimental.  They are fantasies in a bottle that are tagged with these ads to cover their asses.   Read here to see the status of the drug industry.

The Latest Foreclosures Are On Homes “Under Water”

If you are presently paying a mortgage on a home that is no longer worth what you owe, the new terminology for this predicament is being “Under Water.”  Reuters reports that “nearly one in six” of homeowners are suffering with this dilemma.  A lot of folks have pulled from the equity in their homes and are caught in the downward spiral of the economy where their homes are losing their worth.  Throughout the country, there are pockets of states that have nearly all the residents “under water.”  The $700 billion needed to bail out the banking industry will only be a part of what’s really needed as these new foreclosures pile atop other U.S. economic woes.  Read here to see what’s going on in the latest housing market catastrophe.
