The Republicans in Michigan are showing the ol’ horns.  Since ol’ man McCain put his hand in a hat and pulled out Palin, they decided he might need some help.  But this form of voter intimidation will never fly.  Allegedly, Macomb County GOP officials in Michigan are trying to block voting rights for those who have lost their homes to foreclosure.  Are they serious?  Do the republicans of Michigan really want its residents to be subjected to a credit check at the polls?  So far, they are denying the allegations, but Obama’s camp has taken it quite seriously.  See how serious here.

China has been experiencing severe problems on their markets recently.  In the U.S., we started paying attention to everything stamped “made in china” because we had knowledge of tainted goods being imported from the country.  But now, China faces an internal epidemic of the nation’s powdered milk being poisoned with a chemical used in plastics and fertilizers.  Three children have already succumbed to the dry milk product and many have had complete renal failure.  Several have been fired, one even arrested.   But, it says something about the greed in the world, not just the U.S.  Someone out there wanted to sell spoiled milk and tampered with it to reap the profits.  Where do you draw the line China?  First it’s the toys, now it’s the milk!  Read the details here.  But, continue to read those labels.  Unfortunately, if you were one of those who checked for the “made in china” sticker, you realize we are surrounded by their goods.

You are getting ready to see one of the most inspirational speeches of your lifetime.  The mere presence and delivery of this young man will both warm your heart and bring you to your feet.  If you can watch this every morning before you start your day, whatever your day may entail, this young man will encourage you.  Dalton Sherman is a fifth grader, representing Charles Rice Learning Center, who delivered the back to school convocation speech for the Dallas Independent School District (DISD), August 20.  He is reportedly scheduled to appear on Ellen Degeneres’ show on September 18.  She will probably have him recite the prepared speech that he gave to the faculty and students of Dallas numbering nearly ”20,000.”  He prepared all summer in order to be able to memorize and recite this speech for this date.  The speech was prepared for him by the DISD staff and he could not have done a better job if he were Obama himself.  But, I’m sure he has aspirations far reaching than the presidency of the U.S.   He, as he says, can do anything.  And by the time you have finished listening to this speech, you will believe he can too.  This young man in what he does with this speech, speaks volumes to the capability of our children given the proper dedication and support of the “village”.  Prepare to be inspired:

Karl Rove must’ve been visited by the three ghosts of elections past, present, and future.  However it happened, he woke up with a totally different set of morals.  The king of sling has officially passed the baton on to McCain.  The Obama ads that McCain have released are just a bit over the line for Rove’s taste.  Can you believe it?  He’s had enough and is now singing the ”can’t we all get along” song.  This is so strange.  It’s like watching the Emperor scold Darth Vadar, but now Vadar is older than the Emperor.  Read all about the struggle over the Death Star here.
