
The two leading housing brokers, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, are looking at a deal with the government to cover its assets. The deal, thus far, appears to be that the two will be obtained by the federal government in a last ditch attempt to save homeowners that are under the umbrella of the mortgage behemoths. The unstable companies offer many opportunities to get a house with their first time home buying programs and special financing opportunities, but the times changed and the real estate market sank while they were still etching out opportunities for homeowners to buy, buy, buy. Now the Federal government has to take full control of the more than 50 percent of homeowner mortgages in the U.S. Yes it’s okay to be afraid…be very afraid. Mortgage rates actually fell today! It will be interesting to see how this all falls.
