Is the U.S. Losing Global Position?

 The U.S. cannot honestly say it prides itself on saving and conserving.  That’s not our thing.  We are ostentatious and bold.  Maybe we are under the impression that our economy, war or not, will maintain.  But the world is not even recognizing the U.S. dollar anymore.  It’s weakening on the global market daily.  We live like immortals.  People are dying from starvation and we are throwing out enough food to feed a foreign country every year.  Our waterways are drying up and being devastated by pollution, yet we’re still brushing our teeth with the water on.  We have not shortened our round-trips during the day and taken to car pooling in the face of phenomenally high gas prices.  We leave lights on.  We don’t recycle.  Anything else?  And don’t say that ”you” do, so someone else is too.  We’re in this together, you know you do it too.  Plus, we need numbers not a handful of individuals ”making a difference” and celebrities that spend $500 on a pair of shoes, yet recycle. 

The rest of the world has caught up to our economic status and have been putting in the effort by the numbers to achieve it.  China is fast outpacing the U.S. economically and technologically.  We are losing our superpower status by our own volition.  The hard truths and facts are there.  What are we going to do about it?  Like Clinton told us the other night, Obama can make a change, but first we have to vote him in.  Make a move.  We can’t let the Olympic relay race where the U.S. women and men dropped the baton be our foreboding truth.  Check out our status here.

600 Illegal Immigrants Snatched At Plant

What if you went to work tomorrow and all of a sudden federal officers and workers break out running all over the place?  No explanation needed, just like Cedric the Entertainer said in the Original Kings of Comedy, you’ll start running too right?  The first thing you might think is there’s a Columbine type situation getting ready to happen.  Nope! The federal officers are charging after illegal immigrants.  The scene in the Mississippi plant was one of shock, dismay and to some relief, judging from the applause. The workers, some of them under 18, were from places like Germany, Honduras, Mexico, and Panama to name a few.  Surprisingly enough, these raids are not that unusual.  There have been other raids that took nearly 1,300 illegal immigrants from the workplace.  If that many people leave the job in the middle of the day, it must mean trouble for the company.  The raid didn’t warrant any executives being arrested, but the investigation is ongoing. wink! wink!  Find out what happened here.

Is Bush On That Stuff?

 Since when is it okay to use the U.S. Secret Service as designated drivers and your BFF that will hold your hair while you puke when you’re drunk off your ass?  It appears that the paparazzi has hit a goldmine of photo ops that would lead one to believe the President of the United States was getting his drink on at the Olympics.  The photo essay that appears on Gawker.com is an exhibition of an embarrassingly inebriated man in some photos and, giving him the benefit of the doubt, a jovial party man on others.  The President is sitting next to his daughter in some of the photos and she doesn’t seem amused by his behavior.  Now isn’t that the pot calling the kettle black?  Since her wild and crazy days, she appears to be a little sanctimonious here.  Don’t you think?  Check them out!

Is the South An HIV/AIDS Target?

 The South is no different than the rest of the planet when reviewing the amount of HIV/AIDS cases in the black population.  It appears that the epidemic –as it pertains to the black community– has fallen on deaf government ears globally.  In 2005 alone, the CDC reported nearly 38,000 new HIV/AIDS cases and 49% of those were African American.  That statistic is nationwide, but now there are reports of a demographic concentration of HIV/AIDS cases.  The Carolina’s, Mississippi, Virginia, and other states have recently been ravaged by the disease.  The number of HIV/AIDS cases are astronomical in these southern black communities, but also mysterious.  Conspiracy theorists say that the disease is manufactured for the black population.  Maybe the mainstream media is beginning to believe the same thing.  Read the full story here.  What do you think?

What Happened Jo Jo?

A new video has emerged online to exhibit the latest in what seems to be a downward spiral for the once R&B dynamic duo, K-Ci and Jo Jo.  According to Livesteez.com, the two were in concert in Sydney and someone obviously brought a camera into the concert and caught Jo Jo taking a hard fall.  In the past, the brothers have been reported as alledgedly being under the influence of undisclosed substances at several concerts if they show up at all.  The embattled brothers from North Carolina have seen their popularity grow globally and nearly flat-line after rumors of substance abuse.  Mary J. Blige dated K-Ci in the 90s when she admitted to a substance abuse problem of her own.  Check out the footage.  If you know anything about what is happening with the brothers, weigh in and let us in on the secrets.  We hope they can come back from all of the problems and regain their place atop the R&B game.

Freed White Farmer Fed Black Man to Lions

How do you begin to explain such an atrocity, in present day, as being fed to the lions?  In America, the worst we have seen is the burning, dragging and lynching of African Americans, now South Africa takes racial hatred even further.  A white farmer, who obviously didn’t want to compensate a former employee for his work took it upon himself to order him dead.  The government, in turn, helped him to carry out his heinous crime by freeing the man afterwards.  The black man who worked for this animal, who was obviously disguised as a man, went to him to be compensated and was beaten and then thrown into a lion’s pen.  Now the question is who killed the man, the lions or the farmer’s workers who were ordered to beat him.  If this sounds unbelievable, read the rest of the story.  Unimaginable.
